The problem with the planet is primarily the people. Unfortunate but true. For instance, if we cannot get on with the person next door, or the idiot in the traffic, then from where will world peace materialise? It remains an esoteric concept quoted by beauty pageant entrants and naive but well meaning school children. Until humans can accept and have compassion for each other, regardless of race, colour, eye shape and especially religion, there is no 'world'. Only disparity and separation. Sadly this is not only the 'norm' but fast becoming an irreversible and escalating tragedy as we run headlong, unchecked, toward the inevitable human cull that the planet probably needs to survive.
This planet, as we've known it, is dying. Choking on itself. Needlessly asphyxiated by its own inadequate caretakers. Poisoned, raped and routed by its greatest progeny. Still we continue. Will not see. Do not care.
I would love to offer wonderfully positive alternatives, but I fear that the 11th hour has passed and unfortunately I don't find man willing to participate. It's all too personal. What can I get? How much can I have? Don't touch that, it's mine!
We don't share well. Very efficient at taking. Not so good at putting back.
Fact – In our current version of ‘society', money buys freedom. How then, when our attachment to money dominates all, are we to free ourselves? Which politician has the balls to say no, at the risk of alienating his constituency and losing his well paid position? Ask yourself, how would we stop exhaust emissions today? By not driving? Bullshit! Paid good money for this car and I'm gonna drive it! Fuck walking, even if it is healthy. Haven't got time. We are extremely good at creative excuses.
Of course if we are indeed a plague on the planet, then, as any living organism must, the earth will have a purge to rid itself of the disease. As above, so below. The same pattern can be found across all walks of life, on many different levels. The same thing occurring. Cancer has many forms. Therefore, any political posturing and manoeuvring will ultimately, as always, be of little long term significance. All that lives, dies. Every great race has fallen. I wish us well, but then history, it seems, has taught humans nothing. We are poor caretakers. Our lesson continues and the school fees, it seems, will be significant. I wish all a broader perspective...........
